Lorina Balteanu
Lorina Balteanu studied at the Gorki Institute in Moscow. In addition to her unique talents as a jewelry designer, she opened two boutiques in her name in Paris. Each piece is entirely handcrafted by lace-makers in her workshop. She is a poet, a journalist and the head of a powerful foundation for the economic and social development of her mother-country, Moldavai. In 2006 Lorina came across the 18 Century technique of Tatting lace, which involves interlacing rings and chains formed by knots using fingers and a shuttle. The series of knots creates intricate patterns. Lorina reinvented the process by incorporating glass pearls and semi-precious stones into the lace and transforming them into Jewelry. With the success of her collections by Spring 2016 Lorina had open her own boutique.
